Welcome!
Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Heidi Smith and I’m based on our family’s cattle and lucerne property east of Tamworth, NSW. For more than 40 years, my parents have been breeding performance horses for the campdraft and cutting arenas, so it’s fair to say horses are well and truly in my blood.
Competing on home-bred and trained horses is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I love the competition side of the sport, but even more than that, I love the process. Bringing a horse along, building their confidence, developing the partnership and working together to get the best out of each other. That journey is where the real magic happens.
Away from the horses, I have a background in marketing and economics, which has evolved into running my own business focused on project management, training and consulting. Professionally, I spend a lot of time working with clients to build strong business frameworks and improve personal effectiveness, helping individuals and teams get the best out of themselves. It’s work I genuinely love.
What ties all of this together is purpose and intention. Whether it’s business, horsemanship or life more broadly, I work hard to be clear on what matters and why. That same approach shapes my relationship with my horses, and it’s what I love sharing through horsemanship clinics, coaching and mentoring. I’m passionate about working with like-minded people who want to keep learning, improving and becoming the best version of themselves.
Over the years, I’ve developed habits and rituals that go far beyond training and competition. I’ve set myself both physical and mental challenges to continue growing, learning and strengthening my resilience. From trekking the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea to climbing to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, I’m someone who thrives on challenge and is always striving to learn more about myself and what I’m capable of.
I get it. I’m a partner, a mother, a business owner, active in our family business, a competitor, and a thousand other things in between. I understand the mental load that comes with juggling competing priorities, and the constant pull in different directions. But that’s also what makes this life so fulfilling. Working out what matters most, and showing up to do the hard things on the days you really don’t feel like it, because you know the effort is worth it.
Along the way, we grow. We learn. We hone the skills that help us manage the juggle better, ride the highs and lows with more confidence and keep moving forward with purpose.
I believe we never stop learning. I believe every experience, good or not so good, offers an opportunity to grow. While we can’t control everything that happens, we can always control our response. I believe in discipline over motivation, and I believe we can significantly influence our happiness by starting each day from a place of gratitude. If the opportunity presents, I would love to share these learnings and experiences with you. ❤️
